Very interesting article–thanks for sharing it. The author sees a strong connection between Lovecraft’s work and his dream life–so much of his stuff reads like a person’s dream journal transmuted, (barely), into autobiographical fiction. But I disagree that HPL was wholly a materialist or atheist–much of his commentary on this sounds more like adolescent posturing. The fact is, supernatural and even Christian imagery is pervasive in his stories and poetry.
